Palmetto Surety Corporation is a South Carolina based company that currently specializes in Surety Bonding. Palmetto Surety Corporation has agents throughout the state that utilize their expertise in the Bail Bonding industry effectively and efficiently.

Palmetto Surety Corporation is currently expanding it's agent base to other areas across the United States. Currently, the company is conducting business in South Carolina and Florida. Palmetto Surety Corporation will be signing on agents in additional states in the Southeast throughout the upcoming years as well.

Palmetto Surety Corporation is also in the process of expanding it's services to include other types of insurance such as fidelity and performance bonds. These services and others will be available in 2010.

Mark Askew, Chairman of the Board & Sales Executive

Mark Askew serves as chairman of the Board and is a sales executive for the corporation.  Mr. Askew received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lander College in 1994.  Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, Church activities, Clemson athletics, and golf.

David Hedrick, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Hedrick serves on the Board of Directors for the Corporation.  His responsibilities include overseeing all corporate planning, investments, expansion, diversification, marketing and recruiting for the company while maintaining a very active, hands on approach in the bail bond industry. He is a member of the Professional Bail Agents of the United States (PBUS), the South Carolina Bail Agents Association (SCBAA) and Rotary International. 

Scott Willis, Chief Operating Officer

Scott serves as COO of Palmetto Surety and a member of the Board of Directors. As COO Scott oversees the daily operations for all departments and serves as advisor to Insurance and financial regulatory divisions. Scott also serves as Palmetto Judicial representative.

Colleen Handy, Controller

Colleen Handy, CPA joined Palmetto Surety Corporation in June as Controller. She previously worked with Johnson Lambert and Co. in Charleston as an Audit Manager, focusing on captive insurance companies. Colleen has worked for Dooney & Bourke in Norwalk, Connecticut as an International Accounting Manager for five years. Prior to that, she spent three years with Deloitte and Touche, LLP. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Sait Joseph College in Hartford, Ct.

Cori Crawford Duffey, Claims Manager

Cori Duffey has been working in customer service, claims and operations for nearly five years with the company. She joined the Palmetto Surety team in 2003, and her responsibilities include risk and claim management.

Simone Lee, Inventory Control Coordinator

Simone Lee joined the Palmetto Surety team in February 2006 and her responsibilities include handling all power inventory, establishing procedures and processes.

Amy B. Curl, Agent Services Coordinator

Amy Curl joined the Palmetto Surety team in August 2007. Prior to joining Palmetto Surety, she worked for Motley Rice, LLC on their asbestos team. Her responsibilities include transfer bonds, agent licensing, handling agent requests and materials, and open liability.
