March 12, 2010 : Palmetto Surety Corporation received the approval and certificate from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation allowing the company to now extend it's services to the state of Florida. In the upcoming weeks, the interview process for MGAs and GAs in that area will begin. February 3, 2010 : The South Carolina Department of Insurance has issued two Bulletins regarding writing bonds in excess of writing authority and license appointment changes. These bulletins can be found on the South Carolina Department of Insurance website or below under Bulletins. Please note that May 1, 2010 is the current Producer Compliance deadline. January 4, 2010 : Palmetto Surety Corporation is proud to announce that on February 3rd and 4th, 2010, we will be the "Title Sponsor" of the SCBAA conference being held here in Charleston at the Radisson Hotel. November 9, 2009 : The SCBAA Conference had a wonderful turn-out with over 120 agents attending this year. Brian Shipwash gave a wonderful explaination of the Pretrial Release system and how it will effect South Carolina. In light of the Pretrial Release program, Palmetto Surety pledged a donation to help support the SCBAA in hindering the PTR expansion in South Carolina. All agents are encouraged to contact their county council representatives and talk about PTR in their counties. October 5, 2009 : On November 4, 2009, Palmetto Surety Corporation is the Title Sponsor for the South Carolina Bail Agents Association early continuing education class in Columbia, SC.
